Great Links

Here are some links that you should pay attention to.

Why? Because I say so. And I'm always right. Why? Because I say so.

POLITICS

When Clinton was in office, Tom DeLay of Texas did nothing more than try to bring him down, sacrificing the interests of his constituents. Now that his guy is in the White House, he does nothing more than be a jerk, blindly following an agenda without bothering to see if it helps or hurts hard-working Americans. Along with Bush, he continually hurts the middle class. His stupidity during the Terri Schiavo episode, his ruthless redistricting of Texas voters, his endless pandering to special interests, and his scandalous personal behavior is, well, crappy. Sorry, no better word comes to mind. So sue me. In the meantime, his party has conspired to change ethics rules they themselves put in place to catch dastardly Democrats, since those rules threatened the now-dethroned DeLay's well-being. Check out all their sleazy tactics at  http://houseofscandal.org/main.html.

Noted right-wing goofball Bill O'Reilly actually bought up the rights to the domain name "billoreillysucks.com," and redirects visitors to his own site. But somebody else beat him to oreillysucks.com, where you can get some pretty nifty stuff and read about how most of the world thinks he's a doofus.

This one I only give a half-hearted okay to. The Huffington Post, maintained by Arianna Huffington, of whom I'm a big fan, is a great source for the truth on the crimes of the rightwing nutjobs who have wrecked the USA. However, more often than not, when you want to log in and post comments on their many articles, you can't do it, because I think they run the whole damn shit site on a single Pentium server. But if you don't need to take advantage of the blogging they offer, and most often you won't be able to anyway, then you might dig it.

Tired of being called a traitor, just because you don't think Bush had a brain in his head when he took us into Iraq? Plenty of us are true-blue Americans, we support our troops, we want safe shores, but we think that while Afghanistan might have made plenty of sense, Iraq made, and continues to make, no sense at all. If that sums it up for you, check out http://www.supporttroopsopposewar.com

ADVENTURE

Like to hike, to take adventures, to see places that most people won't go without the promise of indoor plumbing? In other words, places I'll never be able to take my wife? Then you need to do your homework. And it's easy. Just check out http://www.adventure-crew.com for the lowdown on great backpacking and other outdoors experiences. Lots of videos online AND available in full length on DVD. This is NOT a paid ad, since I don't have any of those. This is just a really cool site.

LITERATURE

Looking for light, easy reading, something that will put you to sleep before beddy-bye time? Then don't visit this site, http://www.houseofhush.com, because their stuff will wake you up.

ENTERTAINMENT

Stephanie Corby is a very pretty, very talented singer-guitarist-songwriter. You can check out her stuff at her site.

This next guy loves himself. Good for him, cuz he ain't much to look at. But you'll get a huge kick out of him, especially since he thinks the same of Bill O'Reilly that I do.

When I want to rip somebody's head off after a day on the phones, I break up my growing aneurysm with a trip to Stick Figure Death Theater. I've been visiting this place since it was just a dinky little thing, and now it's an entire enterprise, and funnier than hell.

Can't help it, I'm a big Three Stooges fan. So sue me. Of course, I like the Marx Brothers even more, BUT I found this incredible Stooges site. http://www.the3stooges.net/
